There will be a hands-on taping lab portion, where you will get a chance to try out some of the most effective taping techniques with gymnasts. We will take a biomechanical approach to loading the upper and lower body in gymnastics and address ways, even with beginners, to bullet proof them early when teaching shapes and loading. We will touch on nuerodynamic or “kinesiological” stretching along with other stretching methods to improve flexibility. The course will include ideas of how to incorporate prevention in the gym based on motor learning to get the greatest effects and carry over of corrective exercises.
